Anonymous asked: do you have any music you associate with TPoH? :O
sure! but it’s kind of hotchpotch and adds to itself when I find a new track. I actually had a tag I used to post things for it for a while but ahaha kinda fell off that habit huh. If you want an immediate vibe setter for the comic though you can’t go wrong with this-
and also honorable mention to this ost (especially for the present arc!);
every word out of guillermo del toro’s mouth is the most hardcore thing i’ve ever heard and he says it all so casually like he doesn’t even realize how much of a gothic visionary he is
“Since childhood, I’ve been faithful to monsters. I have been saved and absolved by them, because monsters, I believe, are patron saints of our blissful imperfection, and they allow and embody the possibility of failing”
Anonymous asked: hey uncle mod, do you have any advice for someone with an unrelated bachelor's degree on getting a job in visual development? is it feasible to get by on skill and a good portfolio alone or do i need an illustration or animation degree?
I can’t say specifics for studios (I’m sure some places have different systems for accepting applicants at least) but on the whole I’ve had directors and boarders and comics folks alike say that the skill, portfolio and personality of the artist outweighs things like grades and degrees- if what they see is what they need they’ll take you on. That said, it certainly helps to have some training! And in terms of getting your CV looked at then yeah having some fancy letters after your name does help a lot.
very much a back-burner project but slowly carving at the idea I had for a proper action-y Sero doodle comic, so here’s another character to go with Abby! ain’t he cute?
