Anonymous asked: Have you ever heard of a really old cartoon called Alfred J. Kwak? It centers around ducks and has some pretty mature and political themes. Frankly, I didn't hear about it until just recently but when I saw the ducks I was reminded of you instantly. I saw a few episodes, and it's pretty good. Weird, but good.
anon I grew up watching that toon and lemme tell you for a while I thought it was just a wild fever dream I had when I was very young, but it came back on the tv when I was a little older and watched it all over again and tbh I think it was pretty influential on my viewpoints- not just of the politics it discussed, but of cartoons and cartoon characters being able to be aware of and being used to address very large and serious topics, and arguably sometimes in a more effective way than other mediums! so gosh, yes, I do remember that show

important character type: kids’ media villain who can’t really be that evil bc it’s a cutesy g-rated show and they constantly fail at all their schemes so they just come off as kind of endearing and hang out with the heroes sometimes
just for fun: a second go at redesigning the Triple Distelfink! I wanted to try and make it more like traditional distelfink hex signs while pushing the more magic-y vibes I’ve been playing with in some of the doodle comics! Gave it the mesh design at the bottom bc I figured this might be the original Triple Distelfink which gets adapted/simplified over time, and the icon in the heart might change depending on who/what the hex was intended for.
