Recorded off 28 Acts in 28 Minutes, this charming lullaby originally appeared on an episode of The Consultants.

Aaah, my mother used to sing this to me every night :’)

374 plays
The only thing about that astonishes me more than the fact that I hadn’t already drawn this is that nobody else had already drawn this.

What’s that Fret?

You think you’re a hack of one of my other characters and I should have just done the honest thing and name you after him?

Hahaha, aha, haa, you’re so silly.

Regarding villain!Mod

Okay

so

I have come up with a backstory for her

but I’m not going to tell you what it is.

My logic behind this is that her behaviour is (would be?) so very like chaotic characters like Discord and Mad Mod, who’s personal details you only get told about in fragments, or not at all. If she were to appear in the cartoon (and I were writing the episode) it would be precisely like that. Crazy fun times and explosions, a lorry load of puns, some considerable amount of ripping reality to pieces and breaking the forth wall and that’s that.

In writing you always have to think about balance. You have to have comedy, you have to have tragedy. You have to have fast paced action, and you need time to contemplate. You have to have information, and then you have to have the freedom to imagine. There would be exposition episodes and characters who would get a full backstory and sad stories to contrast the comedy, but then there would have to be room for speculation with others.

Perhaps eventually she would get one of those oh-god-my-heartstrings-why episodes in the second or third series (Adventure Time didn’t exactly start off with us knowing the Ice King’s origin from day one), but I figure this way you lot can have as much fun writing theories and ficlets as you jolly well please, and I can sit comfortably in the knowledge that Mod would and always will be a complete grade-A nutcase.

Solemnity. I don’t know what it’s for. What is the point of it. The two most beautiful memorial services that I ever attended both had a lot of humour. And it somehow freed us all and made the services inspiring and cathartic. But solemnity. It serves pomposity and the self-important always know at some level of their consciousness that their egotism is going to be punctured by humour. That’s why they see it as a threat. And so, dishonestly, pretend that their deficiency makes their views more substantial when it only makes them feel bigger.

Oh my god

so

sometimes when my supervisor is roughing out a panel for me to clean up for the final storyboard she’ll scribble little notes in the frame to explain the character’s expression or something

very often they are silly

so there was this one panel where the character is all slumped over and looks dejected and she put ‘FML’ next to it

so I cleaned up the picture- including the FML

like seriously I made it look like it was Times New Roman or some shit but by hand I went to town on that thing

and she kept it in

and IT’S IN THE ANIMATIC OMFG WHY
