Everything I draw ends up wearing a bow-tie

Only a tiny bit, but you know what, I really don’t mind- here’s my perspective on it. I am not, like certain characters, immortal. I could die in the next five minutes. Heavens, I could die in the next five seconds! Nobody knows when they’re going to snuff it, or why- I could have an aneurism that has been building in my brain for years that has passed under the medical radar, or I could fall down the stairs and break my neck, or I could be obliterated by a meteor or a bomb or a large intergalactic bee that decided it wanted to sit down on that nice little blue-and-green planet over there.

The fact is, nobody knows how much time they have, but what I do know is how much I love it. I love time. I love spending it drawing, having fun with people I have known for years, and making friends with people I have never met but who understand one tiny, bizarre joke that only started two-or-something days ago. When you put everything into context, it really doesn’t hold up that someone is annoyed that too many people are enjoying one thing. There are always going to be people who will take things too far, or too seriously- the important thing is not to ‘not let it get to you’, it is to see it for what it is, and balance it out in relation to everything else. The odds are that you’ll start laughing.

I am a very small person and I will live for a very small amount of time. In the grand scheme of things I will likely not amount to very much at all, but that’s fine, because smiles can be very small, but they can feel very big. I intend to make as many people smile as I possibly can before I inevitably trip headfirst off my wobbly mortal coil into the mysteries of the void, and that includes myself, because no matter how or when I manage to kick the metaphorical bucket I am determined to take it as seriously I take everything else in this world.

Well you see it’s a secret technique passed down through my family for generations; I used… a pencil.

Actually, fun fact for you new chaps, I draw practically everything in pencil first, even my storyboards! I just draw faster and better that way, and the studio I work for has no preference on the techniques we use to make the boards, so long as we make it funny and make it fast! Heck, I do most of my work lying on the floor like gigantic five year old. I line the TPoH comic and other select pieces in photoshop, but 99.9% of the time it’s based off a scanned image from my sketchbook!

Guess it makes the drawings of Notepad a little more authentic, huh?

oh gosh, well okay but unfortunately I’ve been pretty ill for the past three days (and the light in here is awful) so I’m hardly looking my best! Haven’t even got eyeliner on today =__= anywho I’m Cheshire-based, so you’re more likely to see me pottering about in Manchester than London, but I’d be delighted to say hello if you do end up bumping into me!
