From last night.
It’s a lot like this, being married to Amanda. I go “What? Are you sure?” and she goes “Yes! It’ll be BRILLIANT!” and it always is.
Oh, dear God.
I was relieved when Stephen Fry and I drew with 50% of the Anglophenia vote each. There, I thought. That’s the way to do it. Honour is satisfied, and I do not have to apologise to anyone, or worry or ever think about this thing again.
I think people in BBC America are having too much fun with this contest.

ALAN FUCKING RICKMAN?
Neil Gaiman famously posted on his Tumblr that he didn’t stand a chance against Stephen Fry in their Round 1 battle. But the novelist triumphed over his “national treasure” opponent – by ONE vote. (There were more lead changes in this matchup than in Bush/Gore.) This could be a case of “out of the frying pan and into the fire,” as Gaiman now faces last year’s champion Alan Rickman (who beat Gary Oldman in Round 1).
Oh ye of little faith Neil.
Love you too Alan but you’ve already won it once COME ON CHAPS WE CAN DO THIS.
I gave my first ever commencement speech to the graduating class of 2012 at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
I think I told them everything important that I knew about going out into the world and being an artist, so I may never need to give another one.

Today’s Moment of Amanda is from last September. In this case it’s really a moment of me.
Right now she’s on a plane from Melbourne, Australia, to Dallas, Texas, where she’s going to start mixing the new album. I’m giving her getting-over-jet-lag time and starting-to-mix-the-album time before we get back together. Four days from now.
Not that I’m counting, obviously.
