So there’s a plot of land right on Robson’s street that has been bought and is being cleared out for a new building, but as they were taking apart the old building something very special was found; an old hand-painted advert for Harold Lloyd’s very first full feature, Grandma’s Boy.
Obviously I sort of flipped out when I saw it. Unfortunately the sun was on the wrong side so these aren’t very good but it really is a beauty, and the colours are just as they were because it’s been covered up for so long! I might try again in the morning tomorrow if the weather is good again :)
Sort of uncanny timing too, what with The Artist, Morris Lessmore and HUGO causing a trend of interest in silent movies…
